Leave Manhattan for an excursion of three of Brooklyn's most popular neighborhoods. We start in DUMBO-- where old warehouses contain chic and interesting shops and you can find breathtaking views. In Brooklyn Heights, we'll pass beautiful brownstones on picturesque tree lined streets and make our way through one of New York's nicest new waterfront parks. We'll see innovations in urban planning side by side with some of the classiest homes NYC has to offer. After a short boat ride, we'll enter Williamsburg the neighborhood that got Brooklyn named the coolest city on earth by GQ. We'll learn how this area went from industrial wasteland to hipster enclave. This tour samples the best of the creativity and community of Williamsburg. We'll see what makes this neighborhood different-- art, graffiti, artisanal food, vintage clothes, and music. We'll also dig into the dramatic changes the neighborhood has undergone hearing tales of conflict and culture clash.

Queens is underrepresented among the many NYC tours. And we here at Streetwise New York Tours are Queens residents and aim to rectify that. We tour Corona, an Italian turned Latino neighborhood and then go to Elmhurst's Chinatown. After a helping of history and a couple doses of dumplings we head into Colombian and Indian Jackson Heights, and then make our way through the Mediterranean cosmopolis that is Astoria, a Greek and Middle Eastern neighborhood. We hit the Queens frontier of LIC, industrial maze turned Manhattan yuppie outpost, in time to watch the sun set over the sky line from the gorgeous green waterfront of Gantry Park.
